Iris our first Granddog!

Brian brought Iris home the first time in October of 1999, we thought she was beautiful.  We have many wonderful memories of Iris and some of our favorites were with my Mom, she would hide treats in her purse and Iris would put her whole head in her purse to retrieve them.  When Brian graduated from college in 2000 he brought Iris home with him.  She became a part of our family.  We always would babysit Iris if Mary and Brian went out of town and she always felt at home in our house.  In 2001 Julie adopted Kensey and Kensey and Iris became best friends but Iris was always the boss.  Even though Kensey lived in our home since 2001, when Iris came to stay with us when Brian and Mary went on vacation, Iris would become the boss and take over Kensey's bed and Kensey never gave Iris any trouble about it.  Iris was the friendliest dog I ever came in contact with, she never, ever snapped at anyone.  Leah, Sissy and Charlie were never afraid of her and could do anything to her and Iris would let them.  She was full of love and gave love to everyone.  Iris passed in September of 2013 and we all miss her bunches.  She was an awesome pet and part of our family

Kylie turns double digit, the big 10

Kylie had her birthday at the Ice Cream parlor in Kimmswick on 8-13-2013, the day before her birthday because she started 4th grade on her birthday.  It was a great party.  Kylie is getting prettier by the day.  She is so smart and she is turning into a little me with her interest in crafts.  We have so much fun doing crafts and baking, she loves baking in the kitchen with me, big chef and little chef, that is what she always says about us.  I can't believe it has been 10 years ago that this angel came into our lives, we are so blessed.

Our Awesome Destin Vacation

Our Charlie man turns 5

I was asking Charlie where he would like to shop for his birthday present.  He immediately replied that Schnucks has toys, I started laughing and said well, I was thinking more like Toys R Us and he told me that is where he wanted to go.  I also asked him where he wanted to go to lunch, he said the place with the diamond on the outside of the building, I looked confused at him and we were all trying to figure out where he was talking about and Brian came up with it.  He was talking about Sam's Club.  I have taken him there a lot when I need to shop and then I can buy him a hot dog and soda for $1.50.  The kids love Sam's hot dogs, they are kosher hot dogs.  I used to buy a $.99 pack of hot dogs but noooooooo our kids love the expensive kosher hot dogs.  So anyway I laughed at that too wanting to go to Sams for lunch.  I said we could go anywhere he wanted, so he starts off wanting to go to Sams, then Steak and Shake, then Dairy Queen and then he finally settled on Applebee's.  We had our date on 7-5-2013.  Charlie wanted to shop for his present before we went to Florida.

On 7-17-2013 our little Charlie man turned 5 in Destin, Florida.  His mom and dad brought decorations to decorate the home we were renting.  Charlie wanted to spend the day at the beach and at the pool and then went to the movies.  I think he had a great day.  We all brought our presents to Florida.  We had a great time.  Here are some of the pics on Charlie's day.

Our Sissy on voting for the new Pope

Another funny from our Sissy girl,  Mary was talking to Sissy and Leah about getting a new Pope.  Sissy asks if kids can vote for the new Pope.  No, Mary says, the Cardinals vote for the new Pope.  Sissy then asks "Do other teams get to vote too?"  She cracks us up!  The innocence of children.

Kylie choked on popcorn chicken

On February 27, 2013 Kylie was at school in the 3rd grade at Fox Elementary eating lunch when she choked on her popcorn chicken, while her friends raised their hands to get help because they could see Kylie was in trouble, her other friend Hannah went into action and performed the Heimlich on Kylie.  Immediately, Kylie spit out the popcorn chicken.  Hannah is our hero.  A local station did a piece on what had happened.  We are eternally grateful for Hannah.

Our Sissy Girl turns 6

Our beautiful Sissy girl turns 6 on 2-13-2013, the day before Valentines Day and she is our heart.  Sissy gives the best hugs in the world.  She always runs to me when she sees me and her arms are always out to give me the best hug in the world.  Sissy and I had our special day last Saturday on the 9th.  I picked her up at 7:30am to go out for breakfast and then the toy store.  We ate at Ihop and played rock, paper, scissors while we waited for our food and then she told me of another game she made up, it was called rock, paper, scissors, anything.  You had a spider and a unicorn in the game also, unicorn beat everything.  That was an interesting game to play.  After we had breakfast we went to Target to look at their toys and she found a lot of things she wanted but she wanted to see what Toys R Us had, so then we went to Toys R Us.  She found 3 baby dolls she wanted, so we bought them, a stroller, and foam, I think that was all, oh, at the checkout she found some dollar toys too.  After that I delivered her to Happy Joe's pizza for a birthday party for Gretchen, her school friend.  We had a great day together.  I cherish the times with my grandchildren, they are the best.
