Our new dog Daisy!

We went to meet Daisy, she is 11 months old will be 1 year old on October 30th.  She is a Golden Lhasa Apso.  She was a show dog but she had some crooked teeth and would not be a champion so her previous owner Polly, decided not to be a dog hoarder and rehome Daisy.  We brought Daisy home with her long hair and every time she went outside to pee, she brought all the leaves in with her.  Polly asked us not to get her cut until we decided for sure if we were going to keep her.  Her second week, we got her cut.  Daisy is a very skittish dog and bonded to me and only me.  She is starting to like the kids a little more but still, will only trust me.  Below are the pics of when we first got her and after her first haircut.

Leah and Sissy's recital

Sissy started taking ukulele lessons from Brian Bauer, which is a friend of Brians'.  Bauer and Brian went to CBC and Mizzou together and he majored in music.  Bauer decided to start giving music lessons and Sissy decided she wanted to learn the ukulele (who knows why) so she started.  Then Leah decided she wants to learn the piano so then Bauer started giving her lessons.  Since Bauer had a number of students he decided to have a recital in his back yard, so that is what they did.  It was on September 20, 2015.  They were fabulous of course!

Kensey's last day

August 19, 2015, Kensey had been having some health issues for the last 6 months but we didn't know today was going to be her last day.  She was ok in the early morning but around 9 she had gone to get a drink of water and fell sprawled out on the floor, I had to call Bob to help her get up, she seemed ok but disoriented.  I took her outside and she started to walk in circles and wouldn't sit down and was panting.  We knew something was wrong.  We thought she had, had a stroke.  Bob took her to the vet but I was afraid that this was the last time I would see her, so I took a picture of her in Bob's truck.  Everyone says she looks so happy and she did and she never cried or even acted like anything hurt.  The vet took x-rays and they saw a lot of tumors around her heart, he said she was bleeding internally but she was not in pain right now but eventually they would kill her because of the bleeding.  He said the best thing is to put her down before she had pain.  Bob stayed with her while they gave her the injection.  Bob said she never cried or made any kind of sound, she just went to sleep. Kensey was Julie's dog, she got Kensey for her 21st birthday but she became our dog.  Kensey was the best dog ever, she would have been 15 on Christmas Day.  We miss her so much. RIP our Kensey dog.

Artsy day at Grandmas

We decided to do something fun on one of our last summer days before going back to school.  So Kylie, Leah and Sissy wanted to try our hands on melting crayons, Dylan and Charlie did not want to participate.  Below is the art they created.  Pretty good I think.

Our 8 year old trip with Sissy and Dylan to Chicago and the Wisconsin Dells - July 12th thru July 16th, 2015

Sissy and Dylan spent Saturday night at our house so we could leave really early on Sunday morning.  Our first stop was at McDonalds in Illinois, this was our first pic.  Sissy had her video camera going constantly and evidently Dylan wasn't cooperating when Sissy made the announcement to Dylan, she said "Dylan you need to get your memory ready because this is going to happen."  We know who the boss is on this trip.  We had a blast.

7-12-2015 - When we got to Chicago on Sunday the first place we went was to the Children's Museum down on the pier.  The kids loved it.

When we got done at the museum and visiting the pier we came back to our hotel and the kids went swimming in the indoor pool.

We ate in our room that night because we were all pretty tired.  Dylan and Sissy were asleep by 7pm and Bob and I joined them shortly after that.

7-13-2015 - The next morning we left for the Dells. The kids enjoyed their surprises in the car on the way to the Dells.  Dylan made a snowman bubble and Sissy entertained us by singing "Let it Go".

We got to the Dells at lunch time so we ate at a Train restaurant called Buffalo Phil's.  The kids loved it because they delivered the food on the train.

After lunch we went on the Wisconsin Duck for a ride, first time for the kids to be on a duck.  Sissy loved it, Dylan was a little hesitant.

We then went to our Villa, it was called Christmas Mountain Village, in the winter it is a ski resort.  It was very nice, the kids loved it.  Their room was upstairs, so they thought they were really something.

7-14-2015 - Today we went to Circus World in Baraboo, WI.  That was an awesome place, the kids really liked it and got to be part of a circus act.  We also saw a great magician show too.  The kids had never been to a circus before so that was great. We spent most of the day at Circus World, there was a lot to see.

7-15-2015 - Our last day we spent at Tommy Bartlett Exploratory, that was awesome place to, a lot of hands on stuff to do.

After that we went on a Dells boat ride, we really enjoyed that too.  During the stop of the boat ride we saw a dog jump from one column of rock to another, pretty great.

We ended the day with go kart rides and then swimming at our resort.

7-16-2015 We were planning on leaving early in the morning but as luck would have it, Dylan woke up with an asthma attack.  His air peak flow was very low and we needed to make a stop at the emergency room at the hospital.  They gave Dylan a breathing treatment and some steroids and told us we were good to go.  Dylan had no more trouble.

All in all we had another awesome trip with our awesome grandkids.  We are so lucky that we are able to make some great memories with Dylan and Sissy.  They are our heart.
