Trip to Hannibal with Kylie and Dylan

We planned a trip to Hannibal, Mo., with Kylie and Dylan.  We left on Monday, July 28th and returned on Wednesday, July 30th.  We arrived around 11am and went right to Tom Sawyers fence and the kids started pretending to whitewash it.

Next, we took a trolley ride all around Hannibal.

After that we visited Tom Sawyer, Becky Thatcher and Huckleberry Finn's homes and also the Tom Sawyer museum.
Then we checked into the Best Western Plus on the river and went swimming.
The next morning we went to tour the Mark Twain Cave.

After the cave we took a ride on the Tom Sawyer Riverboat
After the riverboat ride we visited lovers leap.

The next morning on Wednesday July 30th we made our way home.

We had a great time with Kylie and Dylan and want to plan more short trips.  We are so blessed to have such wonderful Grandkids.  We love them bunches.

Our Charlie boy turns 6

This is July 17, 2014, Charlie and I went birthday shopping and then went to Steak and Shake for lunch.  It is our tradition, that Grandma takes the birthday grandchild to buy their gift and then out to lunch, just the two of us.  Usually, we do it before the birthday but in this case, Brian and Mary had the opportunity to chaperone some high school students to Washington, D.C. so we got to have Charlie and his sisters spend the night on his birthday.  After we had lunch we went home to get ready for his birthday party with his GiGi and Pop and Aunt Hannah, Aunt Mo, Uncle Mark and Blake and Matthew.  We had a great time.  Here are some pics from his day.  I love this little man so much.

Dylan loses or has his first tooth pulled!

On Monday, February 10, 2014, Julie told me to look at Dylan's tooth on the bottom, I looked in his mouth and asked him to show me his loose tooth, he pointed to the bottom tooth and I see a permanent tooth coming up behind it.  Julie said she was going to call the dentist.  It was a snow day so the kids did not have school.  We had an appointment at 3:15.  Dr. Pat Murphy looks in his mouth and told Dylan that his permanent tooth did not do its job and that is push the baby tooth out of his mouth.  So after some talking it was decided that Dr. Pat would pull his tooth, which he did, after some screaming and tears.  He did not put his tooth under his pillow last night because he wanted to save it and take it to school on Friday for show and tell.  He is too funny.

Our beautiful Sissy turns 7

7-17-2013 Destin, Florida our beach beauty.

Our beautiful Sissy turns 7 on February 13th, Sissy is a middle child and of all 5 grandchildren, she was the easiest baby.  The other 4 grandchildren don't like to hear me say that but it is the truth.  She is so laid back and quiet.  But she is a riot too.  I took her out for her birthday shopping.  On this early Saturday morning, it started with going to a 9am basketball game that Leah was playing.  Sissy and Charlie were there with their dad.  I gave each of the kids $1 to spend at the concession stand.  Sissy and Charlie bought kit kats.  When the game was over and Sissy and I were about to leave, she said I have to go to the bathroom, she ran around the basketball court to the restroom.  About 4 minutes later I see Sissy come out of the restroom running around the court with a long stream of toilet paper flowing from her mouth.  I am looking confused at her when she comes up to me and ask, what is the problem.  She said she bit down on the kit kat and her front tooth fell out.  That was the start of our shopping trip.  From there we went to Toys R Us where we were successful in buying 3 special gifts.  An Aurora doll, Aurora's puppy and a Barbie head that she can style.  As we were leaving Toys R Us I asked Sissy where she wanted to go to lunch, she said Steak and Shake.  We proceeded to Steak and Shake and ordered our food.  Sissy had to go to the bathroom and when she returned, she said her stomach didn't feel good and she needed to go home.  We packed up or food and went home.  I hated that our day ended on that note but we did get her birthday present. I sure do love this beautiful blue eyed girl.
Sissy being a riot.  She was supposed to be eating the curly fries but found another use for them.
