Busy weekend and lots of fun with Leah, Sissy and Charlie

September 8, 9, 10 and 11th We got to spend this fun weekend with Leah, Sissy and Charlie because Brian and Mary were attending Loufest.  They came over Friday after school, we had dinner and then watched movies.  Saturday morning the kids and I went to Walmart and Here today, Charlie bought his Halloween costume and then went home and cooked a pizza for lunch.  We then got ready for church and after church, went to Leah's favorite restaurant, Chinese buffet.  She has finally convinced Sissy and Charlie it is a great place to eat because we always say, everyone has to agree.  Then went home and played games.  We played piggy or spoons and then we played Rummikub. I forgot to mention Sissy gave PawPaw the gift he really wanted, hair!  She is so funny.  Sunday morning the kids also decorated GiGi's birthday gift from us, mums, the pots couldn't look prettier after they decorated them.  Sunday Bob left to go fishing and Julie said we could have Dylan spend the night too, so we went and picked up Dylan, went to lunch at Culvers and then went home.  The kids spent a couple of hours on the computer and then I said, enough, go outside and play it is too nice to be in the house.  Well they were using chalk on the driveway and then went to spray bottle of water and eventually just started squirting each with the hose.  They had fun.  We came in and made lunches made sure book bags and clothes were all ready for school, then had baths, ate dinner and topped it off with ice cream and then bed.  Got them all up at 6am on Monday and had them at school at 7:15 in the morning and then took Dylan to school by 8:20.  After that I went home to rest, ha!  That never happens it took an hour or so just to put my house back together and do the wash.  It was a fantastic weekend.

Total Solar Eclipse party 8-21-2017

About a month ago Brian decided to take off of work on the 21st and pull the kids out of school and come out to our house because we were going to have 1 min and 57 seconds of totality.  We said fine we will have a party.  He invited Mike and Gen and Chris to join us.  I decided to have shirts made, Stephanie made them for us so 12 of us had shirts.  We had food, set up fans and we were set.  We all went outside at 11:49am and the show started.  It was really hot in the 90's but the fans helped.  We all had our glasses and some of the neighbors came over too.  It was a very awesome experience.  God sure put on a show.  It moved me to tears.  We were all clapping and hooting and hollering at totality.  We saw some quick Bailey's beads and an awesome diamond ring before totality.  As soon as it got dark, the crickets started up, the street lights went on, it was unreal.  Charlie spotted the snakes on the driveway but it was fleeting.  I cannot even explain how awesome this experience was, just glad I got to share it with family and friends.

Charlie makes his First Communion at St. Gabes

May 7, 2017 - Our Charlie boy makes his first or is it his second communion. A little story about that, Gen and Mike took the kids to church about a year before Charlie's first communion and all the kids went up to communion and for some reason, Charlie accepted communion.  After mass GiGi made Charlie go up to the priest and tell him he was sorry he did that, of course Charlie is crying but he did do it.  So our family joke is it his first or second holy communion.  Charlie is a little sensitive about this story and doesn't like to be reminded of it.  We love it and love him more.
