Christmas 2015

Christmas was wonderful as usual.  I was up early doing some cooking and then just enjoying the quiet time until my precious babies came over.  Christmas is my happy time.  I feel that people are just happier and more kind at Christmas.  I love this time of year.  We had a wonderful meal and then enjoyed opening presents.

Princess Leah turns preteen 12, help us all!

Leah and I went shopping at South County Mall, I think we went into every store.  She found everything she wanted at about 6-8 stores.  She is a shrewd shopper and with my help with coupons, we really stretched the dollar.  Leah is so much fun and even though she is a preteen, as we were walking thru the mall, Leah would still reach for my hand and hold my hand as we walked thru the mall.  She doesn't even know that was the highlight of my day.  It brought back the memories of me taking them to preschool and them holding my hand tight when we walked into school.  How did those precious days go by so quickly?  After our shopping we went to Leah's favorite restaurant, Chinese buffet in Arnold.  Leah was in her glory.  I cherish these shopping trips.

Dylan turns 9

Dylan and I went birthday shopping on November 6, 2015.  Our first stop was Target and then Toys R Us.  We found everything he wanted at Toy R Us, then we went to Wendy's for lunch.  We had a great time.  Dylan is such a boy but for no reason will come and get a hug or give a kiss and tell me how much he loves me.  I hope he never grows out of that, he is a good snuggler too.  We actually celebrated his birthday at our house the day after Thanksgiving when the kids came over to decorate my tree, it is our family tradition.  Then Nick and Julie had a party for Dylan on Saturday.

Our new dog Daisy!

We went to meet Daisy, she is 11 months old will be 1 year old on October 30th.  She is a Golden Lhasa Apso.  She was a show dog but she had some crooked teeth and would not be a champion so her previous owner Polly, decided not to be a dog hoarder and rehome Daisy.  We brought Daisy home with her long hair and every time she went outside to pee, she brought all the leaves in with her.  Polly asked us not to get her cut until we decided for sure if we were going to keep her.  Her second week, we got her cut.  Daisy is a very skittish dog and bonded to me and only me.  She is starting to like the kids a little more but still, will only trust me.  Below are the pics of when we first got her and after her first haircut.

Leah and Sissy's recital

Sissy started taking ukulele lessons from Brian Bauer, which is a friend of Brians'.  Bauer and Brian went to CBC and Mizzou together and he majored in music.  Bauer decided to start giving music lessons and Sissy decided she wanted to learn the ukulele (who knows why) so she started.  Then Leah decided she wants to learn the piano so then Bauer started giving her lessons.  Since Bauer had a number of students he decided to have a recital in his back yard, so that is what they did.  It was on September 20, 2015.  They were fabulous of course!

Kensey's last day

August 19, 2015, Kensey had been having some health issues for the last 6 months but we didn't know today was going to be her last day.  She was ok in the early morning but around 9 she had gone to get a drink of water and fell sprawled out on the floor, I had to call Bob to help her get up, she seemed ok but disoriented.  I took her outside and she started to walk in circles and wouldn't sit down and was panting.  We knew something was wrong.  We thought she had, had a stroke.  Bob took her to the vet but I was afraid that this was the last time I would see her, so I took a picture of her in Bob's truck.  Everyone says she looks so happy and she did and she never cried or even acted like anything hurt.  The vet took x-rays and they saw a lot of tumors around her heart, he said she was bleeding internally but she was not in pain right now but eventually they would kill her because of the bleeding.  He said the best thing is to put her down before she had pain.  Bob stayed with her while they gave her the injection.  Bob said she never cried or made any kind of sound, she just went to sleep. Kensey was Julie's dog, she got Kensey for her 21st birthday but she became our dog.  Kensey was the best dog ever, she would have been 15 on Christmas Day.  We miss her so much. RIP our Kensey dog.

Artsy day at Grandmas

We decided to do something fun on one of our last summer days before going back to school.  So Kylie, Leah and Sissy wanted to try our hands on melting crayons, Dylan and Charlie did not want to participate.  Below is the art they created.  Pretty good I think.
